The recovery of shredder residues is the main activity of Comet Traitements.

Several high-tech procedures allow for the separation of non-ferrous metals, a mineral fraction and certain types of plastics. The recovery rates are amongst the highest rates in Europe.

The recycling of ferrous metals constitutes the key activity of the COMET Group.

The Group’s infrastructures, as well as its production tools, such as a 7,000 hp METSO LINDEMANN shredder with a capacity of 300 T/h, allow for the Group to handle a volume of 1,200,000 T/year (input), which makes the COMET Group the most prominent player in terms of secondary raw materials for the iron and steel industry in Belgium.
